The Extension, located at 1507 Church Street Marietta, Ga. is a community supported, non-profit organization providing comprehensive long-term residential treatment to homeless, addicted men and women. The Extension has 47-bed campus for men and a 21-bed campus for women. The core mandate of The Extension is to provide intensive and structured residential recovery program for substance abused clients through group and individual counseling, educational opportunities and life skills training.
After completing the residential program, residents eagerly give back to the Extension both financially and in kind by serving as mentors and friends to newer residents.  Above all, our alumni give back by demonstrating through their own lives that is possible for former addicts to live healthy and productive lives.

The partnership between Martha Educational Foundation (MEF) and The Extension in involves:

    1. MEF’s professionals provide Voluntarism, Mental health advocacy.
    2. MEF is permitted to create derivative works based upon the Extension’s intellectual property, Business model, methodologies and processes for its own business purposes, and while providing services to third parties.
    3. Bimonthly Inter-agency group meetings occur between residents of MEF Peepter’s Extension Institute, Ghana, and residents of The Extension, USA.

With the aim of promoting well-being throughout the lifespan, MEF is campaigning to restore services for addiction and behavioral health.

Georgia Anger Management (GAM), located in Gwinnett Ga. GAM offers court approved, court ordered and individual Voluntary Stress therapy management onsite training program for better stress management, self-esteem, and techniques for staying positive at work and building good relationship and family connection.
At this program's conclusion, participants should be able to:
Understand the study of stress and its impact. List tactics for successful time management. Explain how to prioritize and determine what is important. Demonstrate techniques for interacting with difficult people. Employ physical and mental techniques for coping with stress.

MEF partners with GAM to provide services to individuals and families in the Atlanta community. MEF’s role in this partnership is to provide professionals:

    1. To co-host Stress management, Marriage and Relationship seminars for corporate organizations, families, Churches and other identifiable groups.
    2. To provide mental health assessment and evaluations to individuals presenting for anger management training to assess for underlying mental health issues such as Bipolar Disorders, Depression Anxiety or Substance dependent issues perpetuating ANGER PROBLEMS for further diagnosis and treatment.

Liberty University Program

MEF is affiliated with Liberty University to provide clinical internship training for graduate students of Social Work with MEF Peepters Extension institute, Ghana. The partnership experience with MEF was described by Liberty instructor as unique. She stated

“This clinical relationship experience with MEF Peepters Extension clients, Ghana is a game changer due to its cultural, spiritual and international dimension to it” Professor J. Cole ( Field Placement Supervisor).

"The internship experience provided by MEF was instrumental on my growth as a Social Worker. It was a unique experience to gain micro to macro skills under exceptional leadership and great program services.” Valencia Cherry ( Social Worker)
